Background
Born in New York City to Dominican parents, Felix Sanchez grew up in San Diego and chose to compete for the Dominican Republic from 1999 onwards.
Career
He won 43 consecutive 400m hurdles races between 2001 and 2004, including two World Championships and the 2004 Athens Olympic gold. He returned eight years later to win a second gold at the 2012 London Games at age 34.
