Born in Sudlersville, Maryland, Jimmie Foxx signed with the Philadelphia Athletics as a teenager and made his MLB debut at 17 in 1925.

Career

He starred for the Athletics in the late 1920s and early 1930s, leading the team to two World Series titles, then played for the Boston Red Sox, where he won his third MVP in 1938. He hit 50 home runs in two separate seasons.
