Geography
Yas Island lies just east of Abu Dhabi Island and is linked to the city by causeways. Much of the island’s current contour is the result of extensive land reclamation completed in the late 2000s.
Yas Marina Circuit
The Yas Marina Circuit, completed in 2009, hosts the season-ending Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The night race features the only twilight start on the F1 calendar.
Theme Parks
The island contains Ferrari World, with the world’s fastest roller coaster; Yas Waterworld; Warner Bros. World; and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, opened in 2023, the first SeaWorld outside the United States.
